Care Level: Moderate
Lighting: Low to moderate
Flow: Low to moderate, indirect flow that provides gentle movement without stressing the fleshy tissue
Placement: Lower to middle rockwork with adequate space from neighboring corals
Growth: Slow to moderate; grows along a continuous skeletal wall rather than forming separate branching heads
Feeding: Primarily photosynthetic; occasional small meaty foods or quality LPS foods may support growth
Important: Wall hammers can be less forgiving of tissue damage or recession because the colony shares continuous tissue along its skeleton. Avoid strong direct flow and provide several inches of space from neighboring corals due to sweeper tentacles and potential stinging. Acclimate gradually to significant lighting changes.
